Coal Mine Creek Catchment Action Plan
Our Ecologist produced a bush regeneration action plan for the Coal Mine Creek catchment. The catchment had numerous vegetation issues and our client was provided with a clear four-year program for managing these issues. The client commented on the thorough approach and format that made it easy to find details.

Jesmond Bushland Regeneration project
This catchment has been prioritised for bush regeneration work due to the high water quality of Dark creek. The client has funded this project well to improve the health of the catchment and to maintain the creek’s top 5 water quality rating. The client was impressed with Litoria’s initiative to map threatened flora species for the report. High quality outcomes at previous works in Blackbutt Reserve and Northcotte Park ensured Litoria was sought for this important contract.

Ironbark Creek Restoration Project – Elermore Vale
This revegetation project was staged over five years covering over 5.8 Hectares. Litoria was tasked with the weed maintenance, involving spray preparation and weed spraying. Litoria has been praised for the efficient use of a relatively small budget, preventing the seeding of most weeds in this large area.

Blackbutt Rainforest Restoration Project – New Lambton
This project involved an initial stage of raking and solarising trad onsite. The client and Landcare group were very satisfied at our efficiency and above all the thorough removal of almost all small propagules. The next stage involved ecological planting, which involved the strategic planting of rainforest species to increase diversity and to fill canopy gaps left by the flying fox colony which moved on.

Glebe Quarry Weed Control
Work included carefully removing dead lantana to prevent disturbance to the soil profile. Lantana and piles of tree branches were manually mulched at the designated mulch area. To make it easier for the acheologist to access the site, bidens and other annuals were slashed, and some weeds were spot sprayed. Trees marked with flagging tape were cut and painted with concentrated roundup biactive and mulched at the mulch pile. Dead standing trees were retained for vegetation structure for fauna. Some larger logs found in the areas worked were stacked at the mulch pile to be placed in the native vegetation for habitat establishment and in upcoming revegetation areas.
Our team also very meticulously treated the Cat’s Claw Creeper after skirting it from the trees as well as small olive and privet plants in the area. |
