- achieve a safe and incident free workplace
- consider WHS in project planning and work activities
- involve workers and subcontractors in the decision-making process through regular communication and consultation
- ensure workers and subcontractors identify and control risks in the workplace
- monitor and review the elimination or control of potential risks
- enhance workers’ WHS knowledge through a program of education and training.

Environmental Policy
At Litoria Ecological Restoration Services we take pride in caring for our environment. Our contracts are often directed towards environmental protection, however the operations of Litoria are not without its negative environmental impacts. We are fully committed to improving our operations in regards to our environmental performance across all of our business activities. Litoria encourage staff, clients and the public to be involved in and committed to continuous improvement of our operations to protect the environment.
Litoria recognises our key impacts to be in the areas of herbicide use, green waste disposal, use of disposable products and carbon emissions.

At Litoria we revisit our Environmental Management Systems annually to ensure we deliver each of our environmental policy objectives.

We will:
- Only allow staff who are certified to apply herbicide, and are qualified with good native plant and weed identification skills, to prevent damage to native flora.
- Fill herbicide applicators and clean applicators in designated areas away from waterways and sensitive areas.
- Apply herbicides at permitted concentrations and only within appropriate weather parameters.
- Retain green waste on site, where permitted, to prevent spreading weeds and filling waste facilities.
- Source biodegradable or recyclable products where practical.
- Minimise waste through efficient use of all materials.
- Recycle all recyclable products and return herbicide bottles to drum musters for reuse.
- Minimise the use of vehicles, for example car-pooling to distant contracts.
- Provide environmental training and education to all employees.
- Adopt the highest environmental standards in all areas of operation to ensure we meet or exceed all relevant legislative requirements.
- Reduce risks from environmental, health or safety hazards for employees and others in the vicinity of our operations.
- Include environmental considerations in all investment decisions.
- Continually assess the environmental impact of all our operations.

Our supervisors and managers ensure this through regular quality assurance checks. We strive to achieve all the client’s requirements and follow their standards by keeping up to date with the latest scientific research and technological changes.
